ENOUGH IS ENOUGH: MNANGAGWA MUST GO
President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s government has once again shown its true colors. This time, they have arrested a respected journalist, Faith Zaba, the editor of the Zimbabwe Independent newspaper. Her crime? Writing the truth and refusing to bow down to the lies of the regime. She is being charged with “undermining the authority of the President.” But let’s be honest — this is not about the law. It is about fear. It is about trying to silence anyone who dares to speak out.
Civil society activist Obert Masaraure has spoken up strongly. He has faced arrests many times himself and knows the pain of persecution. And now, he stands tall for Faith Zaba and for all of us who want to live in a free and fair country. He said it loud and clear, “No Mnangagwa! Stop it! Zimbabwe is not your tuckshop!” Those words carry the truth many are afraid to say. Zimbabwe does not belong to one man. It belongs to its people.
Mnangagwa wants the media to be silent while the country is robbed of its dignity. He wants them to ignore corruption and suffering. He wants journalists to look away from the pain caused by greed and bad leadership. He wants to rule like a king, not a president. But Zimbabwe is not a kingdom. It is a country built by men and women who fought hard for independence. People who dreamed of freedom, not another dictator wearing a different face.
Masaraure is right. Mnangagwa wants a media that hides the truth and only praises him. But this must stop. The people must push back. If we stay quiet, we are helping him destroy our home. Silence is not peace — it is surrender. Every voice matters. Every word of truth matters. If we do not speak now, we will lose everything our heroes fought for.
We must stand up now, not tomorrow. This is a call to every Zimbabwean who still believes in justice. Civil society, trade unions, churches, women’s groups, students, vendors, and opposition parties — this is our fight together. We must unite, plan, and act as one people. No one will save us unless we rise to save ourselves.
Masaraure reminded us that Zimbabwe’s state institutions are now worse than they were in Rhodesia. That is painful to hear, but it is the truth. Every day that passes without resistance is a day we betray those who died for this land. People like Joshua Nkomo and others did not suffer so that a new dictator could take their place. We owe it to them to keep fighting for the Zimbabwe they dreamed of.
To those working inside government offices, the police, and the army — listen carefully. You do not have to obey wrong orders. You are not slaves to evil. If you help a corrupt system, it will one day turn against you too. The same police you use to arrest others will arrest you. The same courts you corrupt will judge you. Do not be part of a system that destroys its own people.
This is not just about one journalist. It is about every citizen. Today it is Faith Zaba. Tomorrow it could be you, your friend, or your child. We must stop this madness before it destroys what little is left. Zimbabwe needs healing. Zimbabwe needs justice.
We were all part of the 2017 mistake — the coup, the promises, the lies. We thought change had come, but we were fooled. Mnangagwa has failed. He has betrayed the people. He has betrayed the nation.
Now is the time to rise again. Let the people speak. Let the truth be heard. Let the chains be broken. Zimbabwe belongs to its people, not to ZANU PF. The time is now. Enough is enough. Mnangagwa must go.
